What is therapeutic ultrasound?

  • Therapeutic ultrasound is a treatment modality commonly used in physical therapy. It is used to provide deep heating to soft tissues in the body. These include muscles, tendons, joints, and ligaments.

What does ultrasound do to muscles?

  • Ultrasound is a passive modality, meaning a treatment your physical therapist administers. It is a supplement to the primary treatment (eg, therapeutic stretching, exercise). Ultrasound can help relax tight muscles that are sore, and warms muscles and soft tissues, which increases circulation that helps healing.

While ultrasound therapy is not effective for all chronic pain conditions, it may help reduce your pain if you have any of the following:

This is a very good product. I am happy with the quality of the unit and it helped me to decrease the pain and swelling of my knee joint in the past 2 months since I have started to use it. I am satisfied with my purchase.

I liked this ultrasound so much I bought one for my mother as well to try. I have some shoulder issues and my mom uses it for her lower foot pain. Works nicely for both...

Was pleased with this units performance. I have tried other types of "home" portable ultrasounds and find this to be the better of the bunch. Great customer support!!

    Like the warming

Posted by Nancy on 13th Dec 2016

I have tried several different portable ultrasounds and none of them have the warming feature that this unit offers. This unit seems to be the best I have tried and using a little therapeutic muscle cream with the heated head works wonders. Also, great customer service, thank you!

    good product for the price

This unit is quite good to have at home and continue with therapy. More comfortable and less expensive, it is not like the same machine my doctor has, but for pain relieving therapy it works well. I used it with the gel and haven't experienced any pain or discomfort. Visiting a doctor every time is far more expensive...
